Introducing...  Justin & Sara Fussell

Meet Justin and Sara, an adorable couple that has so generously agreed to share their story with me.  They recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary.  Congratulations to both of them!  The first year of marriage is difficult for most couples.  I can't imagine having the added stress of dealing with a chronic and debilitating disease.  What's so remarkable to me is that they entered into the marriage with a deep maturity, love, and understanding for each other, knowing full well that their life together will be challenging.

Sara is special.  She's bubbly and quick with a laugh, very much like her Mother. When I told her that I admired her compassion and her ability to see Justin for the

Most of you don't know that I'm an avid cyclist.  I love riding my bike.  As a matter of fact, I love riding it so much that I've committed and talked my husband Burt into committing to ride in the MS 150 in April 2019.  It's a 150 mile journey from Houston to Austin over a 2 day period and mostly uphill.  Let the training begin!

But, this isn't the real story. I   want to make  the ride       personal.  I thought that I   would  come closer to   crossing the   finish   line if I  actually knew   someone   with MS.  I don't,  not   yet   anyway.   Tomorrow I will.                                                                             I've reached out to friends,   neighbors, and  colleagues to   find someone I can talk with  that has MS.  It

I recently acquired a new listing.   Well, new for me but unfortunately, old for the market.  When I took the listing, it had been on the market for 868 days.  Yes, that's right, 868 days...I like a challenge.  And no, the Greater Houston Area is not a dead real estate market.   When you first hear that a home has been on the market for so long, your mind conjures up all kinds of sights and smells - why else would no one make an offer?  This simply isn't the case with this home.

It's been lovingly cared for by the original homeowners.  It's not stigmatized, the homeowners are not smokers, and they have no pets, never have.  It's in a good school district,  located in a quiet gated neighborhood, close to shopping, restaurants, and theaters. It has a very…

In the aftermath of the devastating natural disaster that hit the greater Houston area, I'm certain that most of us just want to get back to normal. Over 80% of Houston area homes affected by Hurricane Harvey did not have flood insurance. So, where and how do we begin to rebuild?  There is a program to help you either move on or rebuild.

FHA 203(h) Disaster Relief Program can help you do just that.  This program provides mortgages for victims of major disasters who find themselves faced with either buying a replacement home or restoring what nature has destroyed. If your home was destroyed by a flood, fire, storm, hurricane, earthquake or any other federally declared natural disaster, you may qualify.
