Real Estate in Lazybrook, Houston

Homes for sale in Lazybrook range from around 1500 to 3000 square feet for many of the area's original homes, and larger for newer ones. Being a deed restricted neighborhood, those newer homes still keep with the prevailing mid-century aesthetic.

In Lazybrook, the one-story ranch home in brick, clapboard, and vertical siding, is the most common. Some other mid to late-century homes with new-traditional design elements are on display, some in 1.5 story configurations with dormer windows.

Many homes will include exterior accents like bay windows, exterior shutters, and covered porches. Wide, brick homes homes under low-pitched slate roofs are the standard throughout.

Front yards are inviting, with large shady trees and well-established lawns. Yard spaces in general are larger than what one would expect for the area, allowing for many properties to host pools and generous outdoor entertainment areas.

With many Lazybrook homes being built in the 60s, interiors show off characteristic custom shelving, breakfast bars, and large brick fireplaces. Many of the homes have undergone extensive refurbishment, including fresh paint, molding details, floors in wood and tile, and new appliances.

Interiors are excellent for beating the Houston heat, providing screened rear patios, ceiling fans, open floor spaces, and cool tile work in the bathrooms.

Overall, the Lazybrook real estate market offers well-kept, vintage homes, in medium to large sizes, resting beneath beautiful large trees.

As the original owners begin to move out of the area, and younger families move in, the area is bound to only increase in its family-friendly vibe and overall desirability, especially given its excellent location.

And for those looking for something even more affordable, Lazybrook also includes the odd townhome development at its edges.
